It's very good but the beef pies can be purchased from Wal-Mart in the freezer section and is literally the same thing at half the cost. The employees are friendly and is a great experience when you're in Ellsworth.

I have stayed a a hotel next door many times and have heard good things about Taste Jamaica, today I finally decided to try it out...I am so disappointed that I waited so long...the food was amazing and the staff was very friendly...I will be stopping by here every time I am in the area.Very impressed...I even bought a bottle of Blueberry habanero sauce to take home.

Love this place! Awesome food and a fun selection of Jamaican drinks, they do serve some beers. There is outdoor seating, no indoor, better suited for takeout. Do stop by and try them out.

This this red place on our way down to Bar Harbor. We had to stop on our way back, and so we did. It did not disappoint. Delicious food. The curry chicken and the pulled pork are both awesome.

Best new spot in town.

BEST FOOD I'VE EATEN IN THE STATE. We have been traveling Maine for over 2 months and have been struggling to find any great food. Untill tonight, the jerk chicken with rice & beans brought me back to the some of the best Ive ever had even back on the island. Killer fried plantains as well. I need a few more stars if I'm really gonna be accurate in my rating. Look out Ellsworth/Bar Harbor there is a new flavor sheriff in town.

The service was top notch, the food was awesome, portions were filling. I recommend taste Jamaica to anyone, don't worry about the heat they can put the heat on the side , but their yellow hot sauce is soooooooooo good.. authentic Jamaica food at its finest.

Never tried goat before and here it was very tasty! It was very tender and well seasoned. Awesome fried plantains perfectly salted, I only wish I had more.

So glad I tried it! Coconut curry shrimp, fried plantains, carrot ginger blended drink; each excellent alone, made for a wonderful feast. Wish I would have stopped in this past winter. It would have cheered me right up

Amazing food! Have tried the pulled pork, (favorite) the jerk chicken sand, the curry goat, the plantains and the beans and rice, (another favorite) all of it has been great! Haven't had a bad meal here yet. Great people, great food!

I stopped here on my way out of Bar Harbor. WOW!! Their Jerk Pork is amazing. Cooked to perfection! I wish I wasn't leaving town; I'd come back for dinner too!

This roadside stop in Ellsworth, Maine, is the perfect alternative when taking a break from seafood. Jamaican classics are made to order, with Jamaican imported drinks to quench thirst or the heat of the spicy menu choices. Good value, family run, check it out!

Having spent some time in the Caribbean I’m always skeptical about “authentic†Jamaican food joints..I was pleasantly surprised their fried festival is pretty much a johnny cake and everywhere Jamaican place I’ve been to doesn’t even try to make them..I am new to the area and will definitely be going back frequently.

People make the mistake of driving past this place far too often, I'm so glad this little business popped up within the last few years! Authentic and delicious, I would recommend anything on the menu! Everything is around 10 dollars at this take out style shack(which may seem pricey or cheap depending who you are). There's no indoor seating here, but in nicer weather you can sit outside on the picnic benches. There are often only one or two people working in this tiny restaurant, but it's only a few minutes of waiting before you get delicious Jamaican food! Lots of meat options, and a really good "irei ital" vegan option! You also can choose from some interesting Jamaican sodas, as well as some more familiar options. Only place in the area that does good fried plantains! The cook/server is super nice, and it's great to see a business like this is east coast Maine! Worth every penny.

I grew up in Colombia SA and having Jamaican anything up this far north America is a blessing! It was definitely NOT like visiting the Chinese restaurant with a kitchen full of Mexican chefs. It was real.

Fun staff, decent selection, and plantains to die for

Just had some light food here tonight. The beef Patties were great and so were the fried plantains! Enjoyed the carrot-ginger juice and mixed fruit juice as well!

I've been to Jamaica and have Jamaican friends who have cooked several meals for me. This place ok. I got a large Jerk pork($13.75) and the pork was not hat great. Maybe it was just my portion, but the reviews are the reason I came here and I was very let down. I would have been happier if literally half of my meat wasn't just solid fat chunks and inedible.
Ray Smith
Incredible food! Super nice owner!
Edith Doss
Absolutely delicious! We had the jerk pork. (I don't even eat pork 😊, but they were out of the chicken and I was so looking forward to some great jerk flavor- and loved it!) Great spice, super nice service. We've been visiting for a week and needed a change from the lobster pounds. Boy did we find a great change! Our only regret is that we didn't find it sooner because tonight's our last night here! Thanks again for a great end to a wonderful vaycay!
